Acupuncture

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most commonly used medical practices in the world. Originating in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture has classically been known to alleviate many dis-ease conditions.

Meridians flow through the body and serve as pathways for the flow of Qi (energy). By stimulating specific points on the body, acupuncture disperses blockages in the energy flow allowing body/mind/spirit to function optimally and enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Solid, stainless steel, hair thin needles are inserted into specific points along the channels to improve the flow of Qi, thus restoring balance. By bringing balance back to the body, health is restored. Needle-less treatments are available for children.

Classical Chinese Medicine recognizes that aches, pains, and other dis-ease conditions are only symptoms of a deeper, underlying imbalance and takes the whole person into account (not just the symptoms) in developing individualized treatment plans. Acupuncture addresses the integral healing of body, mind, spirit.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have both studied acupuncture's efficacy and have released lists of conditions that acupuncture has been shown to treat either through controlled clinical trials or through clinical experience. These include:
